Trying

Authors note- this is just a playful piece I decided to write today.  I'm feeling in a light mood today, so I felt that this poem would fit the bill.

Once upon a time,
I really tried to rhyme,
I sat there for hours,
Thinking of flowers,
Nothing was coming to mind.

What's the delay?
My mind walked away,
She abandoned my head,
And left me here dead,
Nothing was coming to mind.

The minutes are leaving,
The clock is a theiving,
No more time to stall,
But my thoughts had hit a wall,
Nothing was coming to mind.

Then it came to me there,
While I sat in my chair,
The most wonderful thing,
Come on a golden wing,
This poem had come to mind.

Pride

As we live our lives, there are hardships that we must endure.  As an individual they will all be different, but one thing that is in common between all our lives problems is that somebody will always be willing to help you, if you give them a chance.  Pride is what hurts us the most, because we all need help, but our pride doesn't want help, it wants to show that we can get through whatever we're going through without a scratch.  Unfortunately our pride usually pushes us in a direction we don't want to go, taking us deeper into self pity and self reliance.

I realize that this is a short entry, but it works just fine.  I have pride, you have pride, we all have pride, but it is a matter of whether or not you can overcome it that truly makes it in the end.

Fear

Living In hiding all her life, Repunzel never realized her true potential as a princess.  She was terrified of what she didn’t know, like many of us often are.  Sometimes we dream of seeing that of which we are afraid, but, I mean, we are afraid to.  And, even though this might be a fairy tale, it is still true for all of us.  We can never experience everything alone or we might not make it. There are bad things out there but with the help of somebody else to give you a nudge in the right direction, you can live a life worth dying for.

I want to go skydiving someday,  I want to ride a motorcycle, I want to bungee jump from a bridge, unfortunately  that probably won't happen.  I will admit, I would be terrified of jumping off a bridge, but of course I still would like to try.  If somebody had never been there to convince me to live, I would most likely be dead.  Fear rules the life of the friendless, because as the saying says, a friend will advise you not to do something idiotic, like jump off a plane, but a best friend will be the one to push you off.

Repunzel is terrified of leaving her  tower, her fear of the world that lies beyond ruling her life (not to mention her mothers horrid wrath if she were to leave).  But when a friend comes along to help her, she finds out the joy of conquering her fears.   She is pushed to do something that she feels is right and acts on her better knowledge.  If Flynn hadn't come along she would have grow up fearing the outside, and every child needs to go outside and be a kid or I'm not sure they are going to grow up right.  Sometimes a little push in the right direction is all we need to change the world.

Everyone experiences fear, it is a part of daily life.  We are afraid of dying, embarrassment , punishment, hurt, pain, even of being afraid of being afraid.  Friends are necessary for many reasons but that one is one of the main ones.  To help you be the person you were born to be by helping you overcome your fears holding them back.  There are risks and risks are what we must all take if we wish to live our lives the way we know we should.
